LAUNDRY & CARE INSTRUCTION

To learn how to take care for your BALLIN pants.

Cotton care instruction

PREPARATION

  1. Separate your colors, this will avoid dark colors from bleeding onto light ones.
  2. Close zippers and buttons to prevent any scraping of the fabric.
  3. Avoid trying to rub out stains during pretreatment. This will cause color discoloration at that spot.
  4. Turn trousers inside out.
  5. Avoid heavy loads, and wash no more than 2 or 3 pairs at a time. Cotton is cleaned through agitation, so the more trousers “move” the better the results.

LAUNDRY SETTINGS

  1. Since trousers are cleaned through the mechanical process of agitation, very little or no detergent is needed.
  2. If using detergent, be sure to use “color” sensitive detergent, this will help to keep the color from fading. Never use a heavy-duty detergent.
  3. Fabric softener and other emollients are not necessary.
  4. Choose normal wash cycles @ 40°C. Gentle or delicate cycles don’t provide enough agitation to properly wash your trousers.
  5. Use the shortest possible spin cycle, optimally at the lowest speed possible (400 rpm).
  6. At the end of the spin cycle, avoid leaving the pants in the washer for too long.

DRYING & PRESSING

Drying:

  • Keep your pants turned inside out.
  • We recommend laying your pants flat on a flat surface and letting them dry naturally.
  • Once your cotton pants are dry, you can toss in a dryer for a few minutes – BUT please do so at very low temperatures – max. 60°C. This will make your pants feel soft and smooth.
  • If your dryer doesn’t have a very low temperature setting, then best to not put your pants in the dryer and leave them to dry naturally on a flat surface.

Ironing:

  • If you follow the previous steps properly, your pants should not need any ironing. If you feel that some ironing is needed, please do so at very low temperatures. All of our pants have elastane, and high heat will damage it.
  • If ironing, you should always iron with the pants turned inside out (iron the back side).

Blended wool care instructions

PREPARATION

  1. When separating your laundry, keep in mind that wool blend trousers should not be washed with other types of materials.
  2. Close zippers and buttons to prevent any scraping of the fabric.
  3. Best to turn trousers inside out.
  4. Avoid agitation as much as possible, this will help to prevent any premature pilling.

LAUNDRY SETTINGS

  1. Choose a delicate setting (or wool wash cycle if your machine is suitably equipped) at a maximum temperature of 40°C.
  2. Never use a spin cycle.
  3. Use a high water level so that the trousers can float slightly, this will help to avoid the pants from rubbing against each other.
  4. Use only wool detergent, specially designed for the needs of wool fibers.
  5. After the wash cycle, never use a spin cycle.

DRYING & PRESSING

Drying:

  • Keep you pants turned inside out.
  • Dry in a tumble dryer, at delicate or low temperature setting – max. 55 – 60°C.
  • This will make your pants feel soft and smooth. If your dryer is not front loading and it doesn’t have a delicate or low temperature setting, then it’s best to lay your pants on a flat surface and let them dry naturally.

Ironing:

  • If you follow the previous steps properly, your pants should need little or no ironing. If you feel that some ironing is needed, please do so at very low temperatures. All of our pants have elastane, and any high heat will damage it.
  • When ironing, you should always iron with the pants turned inside out (iron the back side)
